• Terrace at Saunton Sands

    Saunton Sands

Installation : Saunton Sands Hotel Type: Hotel Terrace Perched on the top of a cliff overlooking 3 miles of golden sand and some of the best surf in the country, the parasols at the Saunton Sands Hotel needed to be robust and durable, suitable for coastal climates and able to withstand the wind and the rain. Reduced management costs were a prime consideration, as these replaced more traditional jumbo parasols that had to be opened and closed daily and required regular maintenance to combat the salt and the sand. The requirement was to fit the Vortex parasols to the existing ground sockets, so custom made adapters were made in-house. This eliminated the need for costly groundworks to take out and replace the existing bases and helped reduce the overall cost. The new Vortex parasols provide the Hotel with year round cover for their terrace, whatever the weather or time of year. The integrated heating and lighting were initially required to extend the use of the terrace long into the summer nights, but as the summer season has drawn to a close the Vortex parasols have continued to allow customers to make the most of the terrace and enjoy [...]

  • Vortex parasols can be left up all year round

    Hinds Head

Installation : Hinds HeadType: Pub The requirement was for a strong parasol that could be left up and open, with little or no management required, so staff wouldn't need to open and close the parasol every day. Integrated heat and light for use all year round was also needed to keep customers warm and dry on cold wet days. As well as enabling the area to be used at night time with the lights creating a warm inviting atmosphere. The parasols also offered the ability to increase available space with tables for use under the parasols.  This meant that the Hind Head could take additional covers for meals on a busy day or allowing customers the option to sit outdoors whilst enjoying a drink. The canopies were printed with a Stella logo and were partly paid for by the beer supplier. In this case the logos were applied using a special marine grade adhesive vinyl, which is incredibly durable, but could be removed and replaced with a different suppliers logo at the end of the existing beer supply contract. This can be done without the need to purchase a complete new canopy, ensuring an extended lifespan of their parasols. [...]

    Hilton Brighton Metropole

Installation : Hilton Brighton Metropole Type: Hotel Terrace The hotel features a narrow, seafront facing terrace that they wanted to be able to use all year round. The building is listed, so the option of a permanent cover was not possible and would also have been far more expensive. There was no option to fit a ground socket as the terrace floor forms the ceiling of a service room below. These parasols were initially installed in early 2014 and other than a short spell of building maintenance which required scaffolding, these parasols haven’t been closed since. They stand year-round facing everything that the south coast can throw at them, including storms and high winds. Fitted with heaters and lights these parasols provide the hotel with a desirable outside space for smokers and drinkers. Close to the bar it is a valuable additional space, providing shade in the summer and warmth and shelter long into the evening and during the winter months. Solution 3 x Vortex 3x4m rectangular parasols Freestanding base with cover Fully integrated electrics with heaters and lights Results 100% up time Extended bar and terrace area Non-permanent structure - used for [...]

    Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf

Installation : Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf Type: Leisure | Theme Park With a very busy seaside location, the Adventure Golf Courses in Hastings had to have parasols that were strong enough to withstand the wind coming straight off the sea and durable enough to be left open all year round. There were not staff available to spend their time putting parasols up and down as the weather conditions changed. The Vortex parasols are both waterproof and weatherproof, making them ideal for this location. With a marine grade stainless steel frame, the parasols were going to be impervious to the conditions and would provide both shade and shelter to those playing and spectating. The canopies are a bright mix of aniseed and lagoon, custom made with alternating panels to enhance the corporate identity. Solution 8 x Vortex 2.8m square Aniseed/lagoon coloured alternating panel canopies Bolt down base plate Results Year round usage Bright custom colours for striking look Increased clientele throughout year More Installations:
